I actually just had the trailer weighed today at my dad's work.
Cool looking at the fleet of trucks there.

Total weight ------ 6,260
Jeep ------------------ 4,600
Trailer ---------------- 1,660

Original weight of empty trailer was 1,200lbs
So I've added 460lbs but that's with all the permanent gear inside like spare tire, canopy, chairs, cookware, ect.
The jeep I've added about 300lbs with winch, rock sliders, other mods.

That's not bad, I can't imagine that puts a strain on the Jeep at all.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

Been working on this video a few weeks now.
3+ hours of footage gathered, trying to get down to a small video. Had to break it up into 2 parts.

Beautiful country, I'm just as impressed with the scenery as I am the trailer, you're a lucky dog.  Around 11:30 on the video: what do you do when someone is coming from the opposite direction? ::)

Nice video! Seeing it a sighting in my deer rifles recently have reminded me of things I have been neglecting for too long. :(
I need to get my Blazer back on the road!  8)

The cabin made me think of the many such places that used to be scattered all over the West. I've stayed in many of them and have hauled building materials and supplies in to several. Most are gone now, in some cases whole towns. The federal government started demolishing a lot of them back in the '60s because they didn't want hippies living in them. Punish the building and the public for what? Others have been burned or torn down for "fun" and some by souvenir hunters or folks looking for old wood the remodel their "man caves". I was raised on the rim of the Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas Panhandle and love for red rock country is deep within me. Gotta' get the Blazer back on the road while there is still road left.  ;D

 Buy the way that old well drilling rig by the International truck is very much like the one my dad made our living with for a few years punching holes in the Texas plains. He quit the day he had to ride the slush bucket 250' into a hole to retrieve the lost bit. The rig and the Diamond T truck that pulled it were in the yard with a for sale sign on it that evening.  :o Thanks for the video it made me think.  :)

Wait a minute, Sixball, I'm a city guy so maybe I don't exactly understand. Are you saying your Dad went down the well to retrieve the bit?! If so, your Dad was a real hero!! I wouldn't go down 20 feet. I would have walked away and still sold everything.

Yep, The rig had two cables one for the bit that pounded the dirt and rock and water he put down the hole into slush. The second cable was for the slush bucket. It had a flap in the bottom that allowed the mix in the hole to fill it from the bottom as it was lowered. Put the bit in, pound a while, pull the bit and send in the bucket a few tines to muck it out. Put in more water from the tank truck and start over. The cable on the bit broke and he and my uncle "fished" for it with a hook for a week. Finally he got on the bucket and my uncle sent him down. He hooked the bit and my uncle raised him back out. The rig wasn't worth anything without the bit. It was nothing like the rotary rigs that so much today. He started the hole with a post hole digger and they started with a 12" diameter. They were at least twice that big very soon. It's a lot longer story than this as to why the cable broke but we don't need that all here. As most men of his time he did what had to be done. Farmer, rancher, machinist, welder, mechanic, truck driver, butcher, salesman, carpenter and a great dad. I wish I'd payed attention.  ;D
