Thanks for the video, Rattiac, beautiful country.

Big open country is always good to see and be reminded it is still out there. I don't get out as much as I'd like. Hopefully the Silverado will be up to the task soon. Thanks!

Apparently I forgot to upload this to Vimeo last year.
Recap of a DVD I made years ago.
Funny though,  with all the Bonneville talk.
You can see how wet the salt flats were then.

Had a video giving me trouble trying to save it to the computer.  So I decided to skip ahead.
Here's a walk-thru of the trailer I did at Bonneville.
Enjoy.

Playing hooky from work today with a slight sore throat,  plus my boss just had his other neck vein fixed.  Didn't want to risk getting him sick.

So I started editing the footage from Speedweek.
Here's the sights and sounds of Bonneville saltflats.

Love the sounds. I am somewhat concerned with the number of cruisers who use the return and service road to parade back and forth. We used to set up near the fueling station by the pits near the beginning of mile 3. Blowfish went by us backwards at near 300 mph and Speed Deamon lost it and was headed for the refueling station before recovering and getting back on the course. It was on that road at a couple of hundred mph. People just driving around between the lines set up for spectators and the race course are a danger to themselves and everyone else. There is plenty of room behind the spectators to pretend you matter. I also wonder how these cruisers get ALL of the salt off of their cars, I never could and my pickup shows it after a few years and I never went splashing through the wet salt slush. Sorry just a old guy's rant.

But the sounds of Bonnevile are like nothing else. Nowhere can you hear a powerful engine pull at full throttle for so long and the doppler effect just says speed.

I noticed that also. I think some of these guys were affiliated with racing teams .

As for the salt.  It was very dry.  Barely stuck to the tires,  nothing in the wheelwells.
Still gave it a good power wash.
This was why I went cause of the conditions.

That night when I camped in the desert 30 miles away, it was dead quiet.  I could still hear the cars in my head all night.  Vrrroooooooommm.

Glad you all enjoyed it.  Working on part 2 where I visit the pits and starting line.

Watched both parts on youtube while the electricity was off. Love to hear those engines pulling towards the big end. Thanks for posting.👍
