When I was taking Driver's Ed in 1961 we drove 3 on the floor Corvairs. I thought it was fun. In '62 when a friend got a Spyder I was very impressed. The closest it came to killing us was trying to sleep in it on ski trips to Squaw Valley. In '64 he was T-Boned but was able to salvage the engine and trans-axle. We put it in a VW Micro Bus. It went over the Santa Cruz mountains like a Porsche (sort of) and was much more comfortable to sleep in on surfing trips. We had quit skiing by then because we couldn't afford it.
