Hello, just found this forum.  I have a '39 Chevy two door sedan which I have extensively modified.  After I get my feet on the ground here I'll post a few pictures.  As always, I'm looking for parts.

Hey Ron, thanks for pointing me toward this board.  Little more about the car.  I built a new frame for it, MII front end, Ford (can I say that here?) 8.8 rear.  Engine is a 2003 LSx 5.3 (LM4) and 4L60E trans.  Power disc all 4 corners, power steering and A/C heat.  Did retain the old school crank up windows but did add bear claw latches with outside handles.  In the process of painting the garnish molding to faux burl.  Ron rode in it, didn't say much but didn't bail at the first stop light either!

What can you tell me about the LS, wiring, pcm flashing etc. In one pic almost looks like a fabricated intake plenum, I'm converting to LS and have a 2002 6.0/4L80E 2WD LQ4 sitting in my barn. Will make the wiring harness but need the 411 PCM flashed once I know what it's going in.

OK, here is what I know (..................).  Ok, maybe a bit more.  First, recommend an aftermarket harness so that you can move the ECU inside.  To ugly to leave out in the engine compartment on a street rod (pre 49).  Second, while the engine is out change the cam, oil pump and timing chain.  You now have an engine that will be happy in your street rod that will outlive you and produce OVER 450 HP.  My intake is just like yours only smoothed out a bit, cost is just paint and the fuel rails are LS1 units on the cheap from eGay.  I went with Drive By Wire.  Requires a TAC and APP (pedal) to match the tune but if you want to do cable just poke a hole in the firewall.  Whichever way you go there will be a need to flash the ECU.  If you do a cam change and have a dyno near end results will  be bumping off 500 HP and very driveable. 

By the way, Ron promised me a ride in his sweet roadster when he gets it finished.  I'm asking members to put some pressure on him to FINISH THE CAR.

Thanks Chopper...hear that Ron?  Yes, color is from a 2011 Caddy.  Note that I'm doing my car a bit different than most street rods.  It's a throw back to the '50s theme.  Rather than smooth everything I'm going with skirts, breezers, curb feelers, fender markers etc like we did back then.  Here's a quick shot of the frame I built and the engine mounted.
