This example shows the importance of accuracy in your tax return.

The IRS has returned the Tax Return to a man in New York City after he apparently answered one of the questions incorrectly.  In response to the question, ... "Do you have anyone dependent on you?" the man wrote: ... "7.1 million illegal immigrants, 1.1 million crack-heads, 4.4 million unemployable scroungers, 80,000 criminals in over 85 prisons, plus 450 idiots in Congress and a group that call themselves Politicians."

The IRS stated that the response he gave was unacceptable.

The man's response back to the IRS was.... "Who did I leave out?"

And then there is my son who is underemployed who had to give back his income tax refund plus a fine because the health insurance plan he bought through the approved Obama Care provider did not qualify. His friend who had no insurance got his rebate and paid less penalty for having no insurance. News Flash..... There are not two political parties,there is one political class and the rest of us.  Why in all of the health care discussion is nothing being said about Congress being in the same system with the rest of us?

I'm dragging my feet on filing my return because I may owe the government money because I sold a property for a profit. I paid the money to buy the property. I took all the risk. I did all the work. I put in all the "sweat equity" over the last 10 years. Now, when I sell it for a profit the government wants their cut. I have taken losses in the past, do you know what the government says?...."you made poor investment choices, too bad".

Here in Utah the governor made a deal with Amazon to apply Utah tax when purchasing.
I totally forgot about reporting online purchases and im sure im not the only one. Honestly I ain't saying shi#! to my tax guy nor do they ask.

Speaking of tax guy's. Im fed up with h&r block. They charge me near $250-300 to do mine and it seems I get less back at this age. So I'm looking elsewhere to get my taxes done. Screw em !!!

Several years ago the county assessor showed up in our yard at the end of two miles of road I maintain. He had old photos and a tape measure. He was measuring a stone retaining wall that was not in the early photos and told me that I would be taxed for it as an improvement. It sorta' ticked me off. The stones were all from the property and I had been paying taxes on them for years. I chose to move my stones from one place on my property to another. I told him they were my stones and it is my property. I asked if he taxed people when they rearranged their furniture? I then pointed out that the wooden retaining wall that had been replaced but had been taxed should be removed from taxation. I also showed him that wooden walkways had rotted and been removed. In the end my property tax was less and he has not been back. He did not even notice the new illegal buildings because he was thinking small.

Okay,  I will bite.  How can NH maintain the roads, bridges, drinking water, sewage system, hydro, hospitals and all the docs and nurses.   Better yet, how do all the state government workers , police and jail system operate.
