I think this would be kool as a hotrod.
« on: December 11, 2016, 05:53:33 PM »
I have the 24 dodge roadster parts so I got to thinking about something REALLY different for a rod. Am I crazy to even think about something like this? Sometimes I feel like a mad scientist :o

Now if you turned the back half into a car carrier for the Buick that would be cool!
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

I think your onto to something very unique.  The trailer would be made out of wood and an especially trick piece. Alternative would be aluminum for low weight.   Some woodworking skills and tools would be useful and lots of thinking about where you want to go with it.

Something like the early streamlined Airstream trailers converted the 5th wheel. Early camp trailer/early hot rod? Could be cool.

Demented scientist stuff if you ask me, check yourself into the Betty Ford clinic. You need therapy.

Seriously though, I had thought of doing that with the Hudson. Flat deck set up for fifth wheel, and building a big low trailer.
On the trailer, I'd use my 28 Cadillac body, and make a bus/house truck body.
The body would bolt to the trailer, and have a lift, that would sit over truck cab.
I'll post a pic of Cadillac body, that's currently being used as lawn art.

Thought of using the back half of this body, as a base for something to live or camp in.
That way, it matches the Hot Rod, and when your camped out, you can unhook the Hot Rod, and use it to get around.

Yeah. Alittle start, I had another post where I made the hinges and doors for the cowl. Mostly a dream right now, but it would be a cool direction to go.  ;D We well see.
