i know that if i had the drawings and measurements i could make the wooden parts.
i see the kits and the astronomical prices that go with them.
i am not looking to make them for money.
but i am a member of the low flyers c.c. and am affiliated with 4 other clubs.
and i must know 10 different guys that are struggling to restore /repair their cars working from splinters.

I haven't seen any drawings, just images of the assemblies and some of the components.

When I first started working on all of these termite ridden cars and replacing the wood with steel I should have made blueprints of each one, but I usually just flew by the seat of my pants and didn't think any one else would build one of these cars. Who knew?

According to VCCA there are no wood patterns available. They do recommend two suppliers of wood components but I don't know how expensive they are.

he could buy one of each of those kits and use them for patterns to make multiples.

I sent him an e-mail several months ago when I was looking at a '31 Sedan and he sent back that he was no longer taking new customers.

David Entler has veery good wood.
I had to rebuild the top on a 1930 sedan that a building fell on during a snow storm.

I bought the wood from a guy in Georgia.  When I opened the box the WARPED wood almost jumped out of the box!!

They didn't cut down the tree until they had an order.  Sent it all back and bought from David.

We also did a 1933 Lincoln 4 door sedan with nothing more than the original parts for patterns.

We used oak for most of it and the car was rock solid when done.

When making new wood parts, you need to remember that they all can't go back in the way they
did when the body was first built.
The sheet metal was put on after screws from the OUTSIDE were already in the joints.

It is a look long and hard, then measure twice, cut, then study, then assemble.

Definitely a shame that patterns don't exist.  But at least I'm going to keep any patterns that I'm able to make for the '35 standard.  We should have a repository on the site where any dimensions can be stored...someone needs to start somewhere.  And FWIW I will use some 1/8" plywood for the patters so it doesn't warp like the wood mentioned above!  Hard to believe that a seasoned woodworker wouldn't use seasoned wood.  Pun intended!

I have a complete set of wood blue prints for a '33 Chev Roadster.  And also a complete wood kit for a '33 chev cabriolet.

I have 80-90% of the wood for my '26 roadster. I'm going to replace most of it with steel but I will save what I remove. A lot of it is in good shape. I have a friend who makes custom cabinets and has a CNC machine to do a lot of the work.

I am pretty sure that dave entler is no longer making wood kits. I spoke to him for over an hour one night about a wood kit for a 35 Chevrolet roadster and he said his health was not good and he would not be doing anything. Was he lying to me, phone him and find out.

I also tried to contact rodman, he doesn't answer emails or telephones and only when he wants to. Think he is a one man business and up to his eyeballs in work for 2 years out.

There is a couple of shops on the east coast, never talked to them.

Let me say this, you need really good  original patterns in order to be able to duplicate them.  You need a bandsaw, 9" will do and a assortment of blades teeth. A belt sander machine 4 x 36 or a 6 x 48 if you got money with side 10" disc sander.  You will need a hand held belt sander.   You will need a jointer. You will need an electric hand held plane.   A 12" wide surface planer is a nice and needy tool to have or borrow.  A table saw tennoning jig and a drill press attachment called a mortising attachment for making mortices..

A nice selection of 3" round drum sanders for your drill press also is very helpful.

Note .......use hardwoods only, with northern ash preferred over oak. Easier to work with , doesn't split as easy, sands well and has nice tight grain.  Maple is also good.

  I sure would love to find a schematic or wood drawing so that i could make my own wood patterns for a 1932 Chevrolet Deluxe Sportsman Roadster  If any one knows of such a thing Please drop me a line  Lave@cogeco.ca .Any pieces are even great  anything is better than nothing  thanks  Wayner  even drawings

consign yourself to the fact your either going to have to step up to the cash register for a reproduction wood kit, or try to take whats already in the car.door post ? thats good enough to copy and try to make another quality part out of it.

To the best of my knowledge, nobody has a set of plans for original 32 chev roadster wood parts, except the various wood part reproducers.

 I have a copy of a set of plans for 1933 Chevrolet master roadster , that a draftsman made in new England for himself . The plans are not complete with all the pieces.  I am not even sure the 33 parts are the same as the 1934-35 standard series parts.

If you want to find out IF anybody actually has a set of drawn plans for 32, you need to join and start posting questions in VCCA CHAT .
