Would anybody like to give their opinion on using phosphoric acid as a rust removal or stopping rust?
Does it need to be washed off and neutralized before applying epoxy primmer?

Would be interested in hearing responses..been hearing a lot lately about using molasses & water for rust removal also.

Any corrosive metal prep should be cleaned off completely and thoroughly.  Your paint of any kind will suffer in the end. I ahd a friend that dipped his car body and didn't clean around the seams real good and the paint after awhile just blistered in these areas.

I use Molases and love it. It stinks, and your parts flash rust, the second you take em out, and presure wash em, but its so cheap and easy. Its the Phosphuric acid in the Molases that dose it. I use roughly a 7 to 1 mix, but its never an exact mix. It pays to have all grease and paint off the part before completely submerging. Any bit poking out the brew will rust badly. Its cheap, and only takes a few weeks. I take the part, or parts out after a week, and presure wash, then put em back in for another week. Its quite amazing how the rust just washes off.
