I would think the chances of that beautiful ford convert being repaired are very remote.  The insurance company will most likely right it off as scrap.

Just the replacement parts cost alone will get you gasping .

The cost of the rebuild will easily outstrip the insurance coverage.

2 peddles.........got confused..........okay.  more likely texting or talking on phone or checking emails. you see it all the time

I talked to my friend with the 55 chevy and the insurance and him settled. He will come away with thousands, and he gets to keep the 55 with out a salvage title. He is going to fix it using a new C5 corvette style chassis, huge brakes and a 6 speed this time.
There will be a lot of nice premium parts for sale for tri five chevies. The old frame can be straightened and with all the big wilwood braking he had on it along with a 355 posi, muncie m21, fenderwell headers, and more I am sure.

Ghost, i'm glad he kept it. If I liked one well enough to keep it around 35yrs, It would get rebuilt one way or another! (Unless it was burnt to the ground or went through a crusher) ;)

RE: totaled blue Ford convertible

As an update my buddy didn't disclose the exact settlement but he was extremely pleased with it.  Said that with the settlement he will be able to buy another turn key Ford convertible and not a project.
