1935 chevrolet touring
« on: May 27, 2016, 01:09:28 PM »
This is the car I hope to have in my garage middle to end of june 2016.

Its a 1935 Chevrolet standard series EC phaeton/touring body style , the last year they made this.  Made only 218 that year and is one of 3 known to be street rodded.

Has full plated jaguar XKE front and rear suspension, 350 SBC  FI from street and performance, 350 auto, plated driveshaft and polished exhaust.  Tilt column, leather interior.  Wheels are knock off hubs jaguar re-laced using original center hubs, done by Dayton.

Car is pure 1970's resto rod style

Will go nicely with my 35 3 w coupe and my under construction SHAZZBOTT 35 roadster.

Are those stainless glass-packs?   Isn't that the same model car that is rumored to be at the bottom of the St Lawrence River near the Alexandria port of entry? Rumor has it a smuggler went through the ice many years ago while smuggling from Canada.

Great looking car!

Nice looking 35 Mike!
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

Good luck madmike. What's the back story?
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

MY CAR IS THE SAME BODY STYLE #1256 touring/phaeton

THE GRAND NATIONAL ROADSTER SHOW  2014 winner of the 7 ft trophy as AMBR = AMERICAS MOST BEAUTIFULL ROADSTER  BY WES RYDELL.  purported TO COST $1,500,OOO TO BUILD  with : foose, troy trepanier and rydell toy shop all doing work to it.  SEE ATTACHED PICTURES

Back story is;  I have been desiring this car since it appeared on the cover of rodders digest around 1981.  Last spring came into some money and remembered this car and chased down the owner who was still living in same east coast town. Got telephone number and called. Wasn't interested in selling, but got his email and at end of each month would send him email telling him was still interested in car and if he changed mind please contact me.

Couple weeks ago he phoned me willing to sell car, was $30,000 above what I wanted to spend, then came back 2 weeks later $15,000 less than before.  We came to a lower price agreement I can live with and so as the seller can he.   Cannot go into the nuts and bolts of the deal but this is not cheap.

I will keep this car till day I die.

I still have to travel down there in june and inspect the car and if as good as in the pictures will put deposit on it.  Will be transported here by an antique car carrier another $2000 cost.

Great looking car!

If a 35 tub from Canada going to USA is at bottom of st Lawrence, We only made one 1935 chev touring and that would be it.

Not sure if the muffs are chrome plated walkers ???  or stainless specialties
Builder had access to chrome shop at nite and plated everything he could.

Congratulations Mike. Getting a fine car that you have wanted for so long is truly a dream come true. If I had that kind of money and used it to bring another car home, no matter how cool, the "day I die" would be today. :o

My next search and continuing search is for a 1934-1935 Chevrolet station woody wagon, built on a 1/2 ton commercial chassis.  Bodies were built by an outside supplier called HERCULES - CAMPBELL WHO BUILT COMMERCIAL CUSTOM BODIES for chevrolet

A quantity of them was built for the USA government forestry service.  How many are left ????   A friend in Albuquerque NM said he saw one at an auction a few years ago, so there is at least one.

Wish I was 40 again.
