ID the year of this chassis?
« on: January 04, 2016, 08:34:10 AM »
As mentioned before I was kicking the idea around of making an "extended cab over engine" dually truck out of an early Chevy sedan.

Found this craigslist ad with a 34 Chevy sedan body already shortened.

http://syracuse.craigslist.org/cto/5355144564.html

The owner (Jeff) is not sure what year the chassis is....maybe 32?  Anyone recognized the chassis?

Looks similar to my '32 chassis, Ed, but the panel above where the gas tank mounts is not the same, mine is solid.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

The trouble with something like this 33/34/35 model is that in order to make a street rod cab over you have to raise the body and move it forwrd so that the doors will open and not hit the fenders  most cab overs if not all had the doors curved to meat the fenders. I think i will leave this one up to MOOSE he can do better than I  Moose please take picture 10 raise the cab and move the cab forward so that there is only about two feet between the windshield and the rad cap then make it into an extendacab and put a much newer box on the rear  I think that will put a smile on Ed's face. I have a picture in my head and i am sure you have the talent to do this  vette59jdwl

Actually I think the front lower corners of the doors would need to be trimmed to open around the fender...but that's on my version.
