Cuban Chrome - Discovery Channel
« on: July 20, 2015, 08:52:02 AM »
Watched the show last Monday evening.  One guy had an old taxi that needed a round bearing and race for the steering column. He sent his son's out looking for the bearing, it dragged until they finally came back with a "U-Joint" ??? The father said they paid too much..but that it would work :o

Guess if you aren't into cars you wouldn't have even noticed.

Entertaining and back on tonight - Monday. (right after Street Outlaws)

That one threw me to Ed. I think they had a serious editing problem. I could have been a peso millionaire with all the old small block chevy parts I had. ;D  I always saved good used engine parts, change out pistons, too hot or mild cams, etc. It makes me feel bad about pitching some of it.

I know what you mean..still have a barn full of old Chevy engine parts, blocks, cranks, heads, intakes, alternators, water pumps etc  Most of the stuff I just give away when someone needs to exchange cores.

There are a lot of problems with that show. I think I will continue to watch it and write down all the gufaws. it might make a good gear head game show finding all the problems.

That's how I feel about must "cowboy" shows and "guns and hunting" shows. When I see all of the BS spewed about the things I know about I can only believe that there is a lot of misinformation about the things I don't know much about. It's one thing if it's entertainment but something else if it's "NEWS" :o
