    Where are you locating your battery in your  build....   Thought I might check out the area under the passenger front fender then  locate battery jumper terminals in a accessible area in case of needing a charge or jump.  Also installing battery disconnect switch.

Well Fatnlow I gave it a lot of thought on my sedan, I really didn't want the battery in the passage compartment and had no place to put it under the car between the frame rails. The only place left is behind the right front tire. It is close to the starter and of the way.  I made a battery tray and welded it to the frame just behind the tire making sure it didn't interfere with the turning radius. I then made a three sided cover to protect the front and both sides. It is held on by some threaded handles I had, I made a top for it and it to is removable. I'm going to use a 24200 latching solenoid made by Cole-Hersee which I'm going to mount close to the battery and power one side of the latching coil to positive and then run the ground side thru a momentary switch inside car. That way when I turn the power of there will not be 12 volts in side the car.  I'll post some picture in the next few days.

On all the coupes I have built, the trunks were for me the best location, I did always have a steel [plate dividing the passenger area from the trunk, but on my sedans I have tries to put them all under the floor board passenger area. My concerns under there is if it needs to be serviced or replaced. Thankfully I did not have to many problems. I have thought about the front fender area, but never had enough room. I will use the engine compartment If a area is accesable.

Just as 62131 mentioned..I mounted the battery in my son's 37 behind the passenger front tire. Used a GM metal battery tray w/ bottom clamp, and bolted plates to existing holes on the bottom of the frame.

Depending on how many power accessories you have you could use a compact battery.  I'm using a XS Power battery I got from Summit Racing.  It's a P/N S925 and is 6.75" X 7" X 5".  I haven't had any issues with it yet.

I used the trunk. I ran very heavy (not sure of the gauge) cable down the frame rail from the starter and up into the trunk for the positive. I ran a shorty cable out the trunk right to the frame. I have had no problems. Just for asthetics, I mounted an old plastic lined Coke cooler in the trunk and put the battery in it.

I did exactly what chopper did. I ran a 1 gauge cable from the battery to the starter(1gauge is rated for up to 190 amps at up to 10) I installed a junction on the cable under the trunk floor and ran the B+ for the rear mounted fuel fuel pump directly to that. In the opposite side of the frame I ran another 1 gauge ground to a junction and split one off one lead from there to the frame and then fan a 1 gauge ground cable all the way to the engine which serves as my main ground for everything up front including another ground to the frame. I built a platform in the trunk to support the battery which is rated at 1000 cranking amps. The starter is a 3HP mini starter. With this setup the engine spins over so fast you would think it had no compression no compression. So far I am very happy with the setup.

I made and installed the battery surround, and the plastic pass through for the battery wires yesterday. I have had this piece for about 10 years and finally decided to use it.

  Thanks  to all that gave their input and Photos  of battery location...Kinda leaning towards the passenger front fender location.. Really didn't want it inside of the vehicle......  .Did this install in my "40 Ford pick-up and worked out  ok...  Thanks again.....
    Now trying  to decide on brake booster assy.   location   fire wall or  frame mounted...the joy of building these old cars
