Has anyone seen my MOTIVATION
« on: April 21, 2015, 07:29:29 PM »
I don't know about you guys, but I can't seem to get motivated in the shop right now. I have plenty to do just no energy to do it. Must be a spring thing. I hope I get my MOJO back soon.

I know what  you mean John.  I've had to get caught up on some of the spring stuff around the house.  Just finished rebuilding my grill.  When I'm done with that stuff no energy to work on the car.  Now that the snow is finally melted in my yard there's always something else to do around the yard.  Can't wait to go for a ride.  Maybe that will get me back into it.
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

No kidding I've been going thru the same thing. Just can't seemed to get motivated. I did take the 38 out last night over to buddies house who has a lift and checked out the underside for any potential problems.

Ghost if you find yours, see if mine is nearby. Geeez, mine is lost for sure. I just hope working on the renovations at the shop (now he's adding a clean room for building motors, tranny's and carbs) and will inspire me to work on something different, LIKE MY COUPE!!!!!!!!

Ghost haven't seen your motivation here......  but
I Got motivated by the wife,,,She does the yard and house  she   said to go  do my thing in the garage...last 2 days, been  sanding doors to bare metal got the passenger side done  and in primer. Worked on the driver's side today ready to  put in primer . She mowed the yard to day and came out to help me finish sanding on the door.  Beings the body and doors don't have rust or dents in them I am not going to sand blast them, and the guy I usually use is 150 miles away, and I  don't trust any one here.
But I am going to send the frame out for sand blasting, figure they can't mess that up.

Photo of the wife removing the running boards by here self..what a gal ;D ;) Didn't want my help..

I actually inlisted a friend to rattle my cage if I'm not making progress on the roadster. We have a goal to drive it to the Lone Star Roundup next year. 1 year away! My goal is to have the engine and tranny complete by June 6 for our Inliner show. There is just so much else going on and I have been letting a lot slide. Now it has caught up with me, but I want the roadster built. The good news is it's just a little hot rod. ;D

Ya know, when I first started this project I spent every free second in the garage. Then it seemed as soon as I got it streetable I hit a major slow down....... I'm trying, though. I got most of the stuff I need to put the car in final primer and I have been creeping along on the interior. I PROMISE to kick myself in the ass next week and get the car primed so I can finish the body and interior by the end of June. No exceptions! As for the rest of you guys...                Just DO IT!! ;)
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

Well I went and did it  :o I forced myself into the garage tonight. Put my dash panel in epoxy primer and touch up a few bare spots on the body, cleaned the dust off the 32, hoping to push it outside this weekend and possibly put another coat of gray high build primer if it doesn't rain.

check the directions on the paint can and do not spray if the temperature or the humidity exceed the recommended spraying temperature & conditions.

I have a dual inexpensive $10 gauge in my garage for temp and humidity.  Also make sure your compressor tank is drained of water and your inline water trap is up to snuff.

Don't want water spots in or on the primer.
