Hubbley metal model kits
« on: October 03, 2014, 08:18:00 AM »
I was talking to a buddie yesterday about the old Hubbley metal model kits. I had a bunch as a kid, I'd get them fitted/primed & sanded and blown back apart, then dad would take them to work and paint them with Lacquer. I had to do the polishing though, but generaly he laid it down pretty smooth.

Anyway I went on E-bay, to see if they were available.  They are still, but only found '32 Chevy's.  Phaeton, Roadster and 5-W coupe. I thought I seen a 3-w, but maybe not. I went back and didn't find it. So if any of you fellas want one, they go from $20 to $125. Ford, duesenburg, and Packard also.

Well chopper you are in luck. I really hoped they made a '34 3-w, nope. At the rate i'm going I thought I might have to get one to see what mine will look like  ;D

62131, as far as I could find, no coach.  I just seen pheaton, roadster and the 5-w coupe. There we quite a few of them, they may have made other different bodys, this is just what I know I seen.

Just Googled it, it looks like they just made the three '32 Chevys, manufactured around 1963-67. On the model A fords they had more models- phaeton, Town car, Vicky, Woodie wagon, 5-w coupe, Roadster, Roadster P.U.  They were in 1/20 scale.

I think I have a kit stuffed away in a closet somewhere.  I'll have to take a look now!
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

The best cars I built were models. :( ;D

I was asked to build a model A Tourer, but when I opened the supplied kit, it had two left sides of the body, but no right.
Went looking for the company, so I could get correct part to build body, but company has closed down. built chassis up, and am giving it to a Ford guy.
