been out of action for 3 weeks
« on: September 17, 2014, 10:37:06 PM »
just spent 2 weeks in the hospital after being infected with "bacterial Meningitis".  Knocked me on my back for 2 week hospital stay and took away my leg and arm strength . Get tired easily. Slowly working myself back to shape, but not easy .

Hope to be back on site and posting like before this happened.

Take care of yourself...maybe this cold weather will kill some bacteria out there?

Yikes Mike, that's some nasty stuff. I lost a cousin from that years ago. Wondered where you had been, take it easy.
I remember spending 12 days in the hospital (when I was 19) and amazed at the strength and stamina I lost in such a short time.

thanks guys, there are a few variations on the meningitis, luckily I got treatment quickly and thanks to my doc who called ambulance , I was into emergency and on meds very quickly.
Not sure where we contracted it. ?

I think that was the worst two weeks of my life, ,lying in a hospital bed.  At least hospital food knocked 30 pounds off me.

Here in Ontario we have OHIP which covers all our hospital treatment, tests and anything else needed.   According to the head doctor lady who was overseeing me, a stay in the hospital costs $1400.00 a day .

Really want to get back to working on my 35 Chevrolet roadster---SHAZZBOTT--.  But think that will be 2-4 weeks more of recovery.  Its one step forward and one step back it seems so far.

It's good to have ya back Mike. I know for a fact that hospital stays are not the vacation I'd be shooting for ever again. Take care and the car is waiting for you...John

Glad you're feeling better. Don't push yourself too hard, the car will be there.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

I just got out of the  ICU ward myself with a bacteria on my lungs. It's all god now, but it started to shut my body down blood pressure, white cells, and kidneys. Bacteria are some brutal shi#!. And no I haven't been to Africa ::)
