Good work getting it to function right. 23

I got a couple small things done, I sanded the distributor housings with first 80 grit, then 180-360-600- 1000-2000 and 4000. it took just a few minutes to get them shiny after that. I have new seals and gaskets in the distributors now, all bolted up with new hardware, new rotors and caps. Last night I painted the gold stripes on the valve covers, and today my son was here, he sat in the kitchen painting the CADILLAC script. Just now in the evening, I screwed the valve covers to the heads with brass acrorn nuts and washers after drenching the cam shafts in a liberal dose of stp. Now I'm thinking about how to paint the air filter housings. Silver hammer varnish is what they have been, but maybe they should be black as not to add too many colors. They'll probably get an Air Maze fiter sticker anyway, that's probably enough color. 24

Now I can start wiring. 25

Low 1 is reading L2. When I set it to L1 to L1 , then I can't get it into park. Tried a few times and walked away. Plus it's still winter here. 🥶 27

Cleaning up die cast type ZA castings plugs up the cutting edge on rotary grinding tools. I tried a 1/4" tap in my die grinder and it will cut fairly well and we all have old taps just laying around. Welcome back Coley, I'm finally joining the "Visits to the Doctor Group"...been years since I felt I needed the visit...just turned 73 but finally the prostrate demon has caught up with me! Tough going on trips, heading out to Missouri this May...should be an interesting road trip. BTW: Welcome Back to vette59jdwl over a year and half? 29

I made the motor mounts in anticipation of having 2 more cylinders. 30

Open heart surgery, aneaurisms and stents, sorta slows one down. I have been busy with making all the truck headlight stands for 1937 to 40 Chevys and GMCs. Turned 81 last year, but still try to work 6 1/2 days each week. |
