Ghost I just Googled it and there are several. Ebay has one, says good core may or maynot work 62-63 401/425 nailhead $34.95. Several rebuilts and some new mini gear reductions(says 64-66) I believe most GM starters were the same( just nose cone differences) usually two offered, short or long HD. Not positive, but think you could get corresponding chevy and change nose cone. I'm seeing some ads saying they have from 57-66 3??/401/425.

I agree with the swapping of potential starter parts...hard a Clark Forklift once with a bad starter and used an old Chevy body/windings body on the Clark long armature.  I keep a pile of GM starters in my barn if you ever need parts.

I just went over to autozone as a last ditch effort after all the other part stores around here and they said they could get me a new one next tuesday with no shipping costs. life time warranty, so I ordered it. I guess the hard part is that they are clocked for the passender or the drivers side which my starter mount is on the drivers side of the engine unlike chevies. I hope this is not an omen about using this nailhead.
