Title: '34 coupe fenders
Post by: Jan Bogert10 on August 17, 2013, 11:01:34 PM
can someone tell me at the very bottom of the grill the point, do the fenders join each other there? or is there something in between them at that spot?

Jan,
I found this pic of the front fenders. Doesn't look like there's any other panel but I sure one of the guys with a 34 or 35 can answer for sure.

On the passenger cars the fenders join each other in the middle, ans sometimes there was a chrome piece that went between them. The truck had a chin panel at the bottom of the grille that the fenders joined to.

The fiberglass fenders on my 34 (3) window are joined together and only have a leather seam cover to hide seam.

I built a 34 3W Standard Coupe back when I got out of High School and the fenders just joined themselves at the bottom center of the grill shell with nothing covering the seam.  I have a 35 3W Standard Coupe now and it had a painted trim piece that covered the seam.  I have also seen the piece on other cars as well.  Not sure if the part was an option but it doesn't seem to be on all of the cars that I have looked at.  I have attached a picture of the part a brace that went with it to hold the fenders.
