Title: Introduction- 1928 AB Coupe Project in Tucson,AZ
Post by: mrrilla on June 26, 2013, 11:55:52 AM
Hi everyone. I was pointed to this forum from another great online community by Tom(TFoch). I recently picked up my oldest Chevrolet to date, a 1928 Chevy series AB national coupe. I live in Tucson but bought this car out of the wheat fields in eastern Washington state for $500. The wood is pretty far gone but the panels are in pretty good shape with the exception of the driver rear fender. I would like to build a hiboy powered by a 331 hemi backed by a A833 4 speed which I already have. I would also like to put the wood bones back in but I'll have to look at the kit costs before I make that call.

I also have a 39 Chevy Master 85 Business Coupe that has been in my family since the early 60's and a 1967 Chevy Short Bed Fleetside C10. My father still drives his unrestored 1931 AE Confederate 5W Rumble seat coupe which I hope to graciously inherient one day.

Mrrilla,
Welcome from New Hampshire.  Glad you signed up!  That should be a really cool project.  Sounds like a lot of Chevy's in your family.  I hope you post the progress that you make and let us know if there is anything we can help you with.
Tom

Your 28 will sure be impressive with that massive hemi taking up residence in the engine bay. Looking forward to following your build....Welcome from Connecticut

Welcome from Aurora Colorado. It sounds like you got some work ahead of you. I have built a few early chevies, but I never had the skills to put the wood back in them. Here is a 28 chevy sedan converted to a sedan delivery that I am in the process of putting the finish touches on....John
