Well Sammons now that you made me cry, Have a great 4th everyone! My wife and I decided to pool our savings on our cookout and send the $.32 a fact checker. It just doesn't seem that anything is less expansive than last year.  :)

Have a great one everyone...It's been raining in my neck of the woods for two days and it is supposed to continue tomorrow so I'll be celebrating when the weather gets better.

Happy 4th everyone. Too dry for fireworks here.  :-\

I hope the idiots here know it's too dry for fireworks. It's also illegal but they sell them on the Indian Reservations? They'll have a display in Virginia City. The almost burn the town down every year. We had a good rain last night and it is sprinkling now. It is not wet enough to keep it from burning though. Happy 4th and be safe!

Sundown is just about 15mins from now here, so it's starting. New doggo is afraid of fireworks😫  He has been stuck to me like glue last couple days. So i have the tv volume way up to help disguise them. Kinda works, lol

My brother, his wife  and son hopped in his old '67 Camaro to go to town and watch 4th july parade. Old guy from town talked him into putting it in parade.

Very nice Camaro, Sammons. I'll bet he was proud and happy to be invited into the parade. Huge fireworks show down the shore here, about a half hour and great view from our deck.

Dog is finaly settling down now that the boom booms have all but stopped😁

I've always liked that Camaro. Got to thinking....brother bought that 45 years ago when he was 13. Paint was a bit faded, minor dings, top was looking pretty sorry and front buckets showing some separation. Think he paid our friend $350 for it😁  He was 16 and had just bought a '57 Chevy to rebuild🙂

Well the idiots set off their own fireworks late at night all over the desert but luckily didn't get a fire going. Too many people and too few brains.  >:(

Yesterday while cleaning the garage,  I looked over at the 32 sitting there with a flat tire.  Felt bad.  :'(
Decided to give it some attention. Filled up the tire, grabbed  some carb cleaner,  sprayed it inside. Put the charger on it.
Amazingly it fired right up  8) 🍻🇺🇲

It almost became the show.  A fuel leak put a quick stop to that.  :o
But it did run really good.   :)

I'm heading back up to the city in a couple days for a wedding. My plan is to bring my '32 down the shore for the summer. It's about 100 trip, longest I have ever taken the car. The only problem (I hope) is the car has a 456:1 ratio rear gears, I don't imagine I will be going very fast.

Chopper, do it on a cooler day! I made a 20mile trip in my '57 for a get together, so i left my 4.56's in. I had 26-27" rear tire and a good radiator. It was in the mid 90s that day and @65mph it was around 4k rpm and made 12 miles till it hit 235-240° 🤯,  I had to back down to 50-53 mph. Temp then went down to 210°.

On our of the Nevada/Texas trips in my son's '54 Stude wagon we lost the OD in Vegas and the leg to Kingman was one of worst times we had on several trips. 4.27 rear gears put us at 50-55 and 3,000 + rpm. We had to turn on the heater to keep the engine from over heating. It was around 100 degrees and we drank gallons of water. We were lucky to find a shop in Kingman with a young guy that fixed the OD solenoid.

I'm figuring on taking the back roads, making a few stops and keeping the MPH to 50 or less. It will turn a two hour trip to 3+, but I don't mind, I am anxious to put some miles on the car.

Lol, my buddy and I took my '47 Willys flatfender w/ 4.88 gears, via back roads to Dodge City, (35miles one way) for a Sonic Cheeseburger and a stop at Army Surplus. Seemed to take forever at 45/50 mph. Felt mighty naked too when we got into town with Bull haulers and intersection traffic🤯 Decided i wouldn't do it again😁

I got a feeling I may regret the drive Sammons, but I will be down the Jersey shore all summer and hate to just let the car sit at home in my garage.

Ahh, bet you won't regret it. Just get up early, get a good breakfast down head out. Take it slow and enjoy the countryside, every town you get to your '32 will be right back in his element😁

You'll be fine and you will have a new adventure to tell us about. Don't talk yourself into not having the '32 to enjoy all summer.  :)

As a kid our many Texas to California trips were done mostly under 60 mph. The issue now  is find a road you can enjoy driving and not getting run over, or causing road rage.  ;D

I have a great back way that I take all the time. Half is 4 lanes, the other half is two lanes, straight through the pines. Plenty of room for traffic to pass and I can always pull over to the shoulder and let them pass. 8)

Well, I drove my '32 down the shore yesterday. It started out ominous. I couldn't get the car started, no gas to the carburetor. At first I thought fuel pump....duh, it was out of gas. Anyway, got it on the road and it was great!!! No problems, whatsoever. It handled well, drove straight, was comfortable, just the best! I cruised at about 50-55 MPH at 2600-2800 RPM. Cruising temperature never went above 160 and even when I was stuck in traffic it never went above 180 degrees. I drove straight through, about 100 miles, never had to stop and used about 1/2 tank of gas. I have to admit I was expecting the worst and I got the best. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Haha! Yes, I know the guy well. Usually he screws everything up, this time it looks like he may have done something right.

Great news Chopper! Running low screws, you just can't be in a hurry to get there....unless your just running 1/4 mile😁

Back in the early '80s my uncle came down from Dodge to see dad and I. He had just thrown together a nasty little 302 and put it in a stripped down '64 Chevelle with 5.13 gear. Said he was glad he threw in a couple extra fan belts cause he had lost one already and he almost used a half tank of gas😁  He let me take it out... damn that thing was fast if you could slam the next gear fast enough!

5:13!! He must have worked his way to you about 35 MPH! Either that or the block was glowing red ;D ;D

One thing I forgot to mention on my ride, I did have one problem: when I applied the brakes the turn signal and high beam indicators  on the dash went on, and when I turned on the left turn signal both left and right rear lights went on. I am hoping it is just a bad ground or a loose connection. Fingers crossed.

Chopper, i hope it's just a simple ground fix! Sure sounds like it anyway.

I bet there is a clump of loose wires near the brake pedal linkage?
