Title: What do you think about the Chevy multi-flex tailgate

Can't believe the hype about this tailgate option...really don't want a tailgate that costs $2500

My new, 2006, Silverado is hard for me to climb into the back of, it may be lifted a little.  I'm lookin for a step that I won't be busting my shins on when not needed. I would not pay for the fancy one on a new pickup. I think that beside being a big expense it is something else to break and rattle. I used to say that about automatic transmissions, AC, electric windows & door locks, and remote start,.......... ;D

New trucks are expensive enough.  I wouldn't pay an extra $2500 for a fancy tailgate.

Yep you will see a lot of them stolen and insurance rates will go up

Looks like a lot of money for a lot of nothing. Is this the best idea they can come up with?
