Title: 400 SBC Motor with HEI failure
Post by: RoarsRods on December 30, 2020, 06:18:19 PM
My 1933 Ford 3 window coupe winter start up with a 400 SBC Motor!

Just a question with these HEI Modules!
I have been having a lot of failed modules! Been using both MSD modules and Acell modules and both brands have been failing!
My thoughts are possibly I just might need a in-line HEI Battery feed resistor!
Any thoughts on what’s causing this failure or what is the best way to resolve this problem?
Thanks in advance!

This is a very informative discussion and should help:

BTW: I'm sure you are using the white heat sink (thermo-grease) compound (and not dielectric grease).

Thanks Ed very interested article! Thanks and yes I always use the white heat lube! I had posted this HEI Control Module question on several Ford and Chevrolet Facebook hot rod sites! I believe it is my alternator regulator is bad with surges over 15.5 V causing my control module to fail! So now am having it rebuilt! Here’s my new control module and my Facebook comment!
