Thanks John!  Turned 63 today and I'll retire from full time work on October 30.  Going to help with the 3 days of remote learning my two oldest grandkids have to do.  Maybe when were done their class work we can go out in the garage ;D

Happy birthday Tom! 63? Puppy!  ;D What ever your grandkids learn in the shop will do them more good than what they will get in school. At least you will know some of what they are being taught. Of course the government may come get them if they find out your car is not electric.  :o

Thanks guys!  Trust me the kids would rather be in the garage or shop than doing school work ;D  Not a bad thing!

Once when I was doing a lesson on reducing fractions to their lowest forms I put 1/16 to 16/16 on the chalk board. As we went through them and reduced each one one of the boys blurted out, "Hey, those are wrench sizes!" CLICK the the conversation went to drill sizes, taps, dies, bolts, cooking measurements, sewing,......None of it was in the book or would have come from a computer. These were 3rd graders. A major function of school should be to relate the learning to the students' experience and give them experience that relates to what is being taught. Sadly too many teachers have done little else than go to school.
