Title: St. Louis' Arch construction
Post by: EDNY on December 05, 2019, 09:46:51 PM
Finally took the time to locate some video of the construction.  I am an old paratrooper, but this video had me puckered up watching those boys working up there.

Cool! I always wondered how they assebled that.  Yep, being that high up would give me the hebee gebee's anymore. :D

Watching video, something seemed out of place. Then it dawned on me.... all white workers. Sure don't see that any more.

Two thoughts come to mind:
1. Could you imagine doing that today? OSHA would go nuts!
2. How about if the two halves didn't line up? ;D

One of my old cowboy friends did two stents on the Golden Gate Bridge one at the beginning and one when it was being finished. He had some tales to tell.
