Title: Lost My Best Friend
Post by: sixball on August 14, 2019, 12:50:40 PM
I lost my best friend yesterday. He was at Bonneville with his brother in law. Monday the salt was still too wet to race. They took a nap in the middle of the day and Vic didn't wake up. He was flown to Ogden and was on life support. They turned it off yesterday. Bonneville was a happy place for him and we had a lot of good times there just watching and helping friends some. I couldn't go this year but helped him get ready. I'll really miss him. He was a part of all of my projects automotive and everything else. In the big picture going to sleep in a place you love isn't a bad way to go. Spooked the crap out of his brother in law who flew out from Detroit to go with him. He made it back last night with Vic's El Camino. :(

Sorry about your loss. Sounds like a great friend.
Couldn't think of a better place to go though.

I completely forgot about speedweek till today.
Had to clear some apps off my phone and accidentally deleted rusty bowtie shortcut. Took me awhile to get in here Google brought nothing up and had to use the link thru  filling station.

I guess our plans to meet at Bonneville didn't work out. I haven't been too enthusiastic about the 32 this year, mostly just sits. 😞

Thanks guys, A few months ago Vic and I went through this with his brother and sifted through his life long collections. There was a lot. Vic's son and his brother's son are on the way from Detroit to help with this one. I need to sort out my stuff next. Don't want to leave my wife and boys with that chore. Thanks again for the thoughts.   Tom

Thanks for the thoughts. A good thing is that I'll get to work with his son, nephew, and brother in law to get as much of his stuff as we can back to Michigan with them. Cars, parts, and lots of tools. His El Camino lost a cylinder on the way to Bonneville. We'll try and sort that out tomorrow.

Sorry for your loss Sixball, I am sure it is difficult.  Just remember how rich your life was to have Vic in it.  It is a fortunate man indeed that has the friendship of others.

Take care my friend...
