Title: 47 to 54 Chevy truck
Post by: munch on May 14, 2019, 07:00:29 PM
I really want to build a Chevy truck in the range of 47 to 54 and looking for affordable chassis solutions to the 11,000 to 13,000 you find at most chassis builders.
I found some information on using S10 chassis and these kits below:

Is anyone have any knowledge or experience with this?
I also found this:

After building several frames (32 Ford and '39 Chevy) I've found it's not hard at all.  Matter of fact it's a fun project not to mention money saving.  The steel would be under $400 and for suspension I would use an entire Corvette (C4) front and rear suspension.  Cost of the pair should be around $1200.  This would give a great foundation for your ride, look good and handle even better.

I ordered a kit from Code 504 and it should be here soon.  I met a guy at a car show that build a Code 504 kit on an S10 chassis for his daughter and couldn't say enough good about them.  Great engineered kit and a laminated book of instructions, plus online videos.

Can't wait to start.  Looking for a donor pickup if anyone knows of one.  Preferable 5 window.
