Title: painting screen
Post by: sammons on April 02, 2019, 12:37:42 PM
Recently had to replace my walkin garage door screen. I locked myself out and it needed replaced from age and hail holes anyway.
I was looking at some of our old town pics and remembered about one of our old grocery store screen doors that had the Rainbo bread logo painted on it. I thought I would experiment and try.

I made a sticky stencil from white contact paper. Lesson learned....use newer contact paper! My old roll stretched getting the backing paper off after stencil was cut out.  :-\  Oh well, back door......proceed anyway.

Did the blue block bowtie first, masking off with tape/paper and a piece of cardboard underneath. Then the white lettering followed by the outer stripe (because the stencil really got out of shape on the 1/8" stripe part).

You can look out from inside and almost see nothing, but from out side in....shows up good. I was going to put "SERVICE" above, but maybe later. Hands weren't co-operating, probably the operation of the exacto knife ;) I'll take more care/time cuting out the stencil next time!
