Well, everyone in the world knows where it is now. It's in the garage of an unoccupied house in Amarillo or Pampa Texas. They have his name so it'll be easy to find it. I don't remember that car but I remember that club. I really like the early body style. Early Vette history would be very different if they had come with a 261 instead of a 235 and a standard trans instead of an auto.

^^^^^Yes on both accounts.
I've been guilty of the same as this 'ol boy.  Some things a guy just can't let go of.

I was talking to a friend of mines father Glen years ago. He said he had bought a new '54 Corvette just as he was finishing Army basic training. Owned it 3 days  ;)  He had a weekend pass, bought it on a friday after noon, said it really scooted. Rolled it on a curve headed back to base sunday evening. He said he got thrown out, not much left of the car, but it was fun while it lasted!

I remember seeing C1 Corvettes for just about nothing in various stages of completeness when I was youth.  But $500 back then was out of league :'(

Man, I hope he gets it going and can drive it with the kids. That part of Texas is filled with old cars tucked away. There are lots of collections stashed where you'd least expect to find them.
