Title: GM factory in Tonawanda chosen to build next-generation Silverado engines
Post by: EDNY on May 21, 2018, 02:13:12 PM
My old stomping grounds.   The story caught my attention because the radio stations reports the fuel management doesn't only manage fuel to 8, 6 or 4 cylinders it also manages fuel to 17 cylinders :o

Well I had to investigate and learned that the engine manages 17 fuel patterns not cylinders.

GM got 300 million dollars from the GOVT to reprogram the computers! ;)

The new Silverado engines are powered by a "sophisticated controller that monitors every movement of the accelerator pedal and runs a complex sequence of calculations to determine how many cylinders are required to meet the driver's requested torque," GM said in its announcement today.
