Title: Loss of a member
Post by: chopper526 on April 19, 2018, 10:17:40 AM
Hey guys, I just wanted to take a moment to recognize the passing of a Rusty Bowtie member. My long-time friend of over 40 years, Marwyn, passed away suddenly on Tuesday from complications following cancer surgery. He was a Bowtie member that used the name "Chop36". He never posted anything, but joined the group at my invitation and did follow conversations/posts. He is a big part of why and how I got into rodding. I bought three cars from him over the years, the last one being my '32 Chevy, about 8 years ago. He loved to break my stones, but he was a softy deep down with a heart of gold. He was a member of the Philadelphia Modifiers Car Club. He always invited me and my family to their functions, picnics, drags. He was like a big brother to me. I feel terrible for his family, and he will be incredibly missed.

Chopper, sorry for the loss of your friend. It sounds like he was a lot like the older car guys I grew up with (most of which are gone now :()
Cool car.

I found out this morn that I lost another one yesterday,(complications from heart attack, 64yrs old). He alawys said he was on barrowed time. He almost died in a bad wreck when he was 18. Him and another friend got T-boned in his '57 2dr hrd tp by a guy that ran a stop sign on the hiway. Split the '57 in half behind frt seat.

Chopper, Sorry for the loss of your friend, Though he didn't post here I'm sure some of his wisdom found it's way here through you. Certainly his former cars did.
Sammons sorry for you too. Old friends are hard to come by. They don't make them any more.  :(

Chopper sorry for the loss of your friend.  Sounds like he was a positive influence on your life.  We were glad he joined the Rusty Bowtie family and checked in on us from time to time.
Sammons, sorry for your loss too.  Thoughts and prayers for the families.
Tom
