Those cowl tags as pictured by Johnny Law motors are whats called a GENERIC TAG, something just made up by somebody.
The TRUE Chevrolet tag on the firewall is for FISHER BUILT BODIES AND CARRIES ALL THE INFO NEEDED TO FIND OUT WHICH FACTORY PRODUCED IT AND ON WHAT DATE , ALONG WITH PAINT CODE AND UPHOLSTERY CODE. ops sorry about caps.
The other tag with Chevrolet name on it did not go on the firewall, but was nailed to the wood seat riser or the pass side floor. This was used on Roadster and Phaetons , as the body was SUPPLIED to Chevrolet by an outside supplier. I have determined that supplier to be HERCULES-CAMPBELL.
My friend frank Agueci had THE stamping machine in his office when at GM head quarters in Oshawa Ontario, before he was moved to another building.

If you need an original LOOKING tag and you have a picture of one take it to a trophy shop. They can photo one onto aluminum that will be close to what you may need. Seen it done more than once for VINs on street rods.
