HMMM. If that was closer I might get a chainsaw and save that one.  Plus look at all the firewood you get, or at least you don't have to replace any wood.   ;D

They were trying to grow a woody? :-[
My friend has a farm implement business. Several years ago when he was delivering a new tractor he saw a hot rod chassis beside a shop with trees growing through it. The guy told him it belonged to their son who didn't make it home from Viet Nam. The rest of the '29 ford roadster was in the shop just the way it was left when build was disrupted by the war. :(

Sixball, that is sad. It's unbelievable how many times I have run across similar family stories. I will never understand how letting something rot away ever paid tribute to anyone.   Our electric company maintenance man use to spend a lot of time down at my shop when he was in town,  and whould give me heads up on cars sitting around farms that could be bought, and some that couldn't.  One was a '65 Vette conv 396, that had a similar story as yours. Kid got drafted in '68, backed the Vette in a grainery, and never made it back. The electric man spotted it one day when the door was open, they were augering out the grain and there was the frt end. He said he has seen it uncovered and then covered entirely in grain. The old man told him his son parked it there, and there is where it will stay. :(

People deal with grief in different ways. I've come across several of those stories. I've also seen some where younger family members grow up and finish a build started by a long gone father or brother. Those are good stories. Lets hope some of these are just waiting for that person to show up. 8)
