Title: Where is everyone?
Post by: ghost28 on May 24, 2015, 06:24:29 PM
Kinda quiet around the bowtie lately, and around the home. I did get to shoot some of that grey UPOL primer yesterday, It layed down thick, and pretty smooth. But I did mix it 4 to 1 to 1, so it would shoot out of my small needle primer gun easily.  I like this product, but when I opened the can, even after a good shaking the stir stick stood up and wouldn't tip over. kinda like a good thick milk shake. That all I have been doing lately.

Oh the sun did show up for a little while yesterday and today.

I'm still here...I haven't been doing too much car related lately. Seems like I have lots of projects around the house to keep me hoppin after the hard winter I had here took its toll. I've been checking in to see what the guys are up to but haven't had much to add. Sounds like that primer should fill any imperfections pretty good.

I keep trying to hide in the shop, but I too have a lot of home projects that need attention, so I will divide my time for awhile.
I am hoping that primer will even make my body work look good, which in turn will make me look good.  ;D and some day I might even have shiney paint to keep clean. OH GREAT MORE THING TO DO.

Well keep at it Ghost, your way way ahead of me.lol  I'm still messing with the shop. All the memorial weekend out door activities(car show etc) here were canceled due to the rain. Been visiting with all my freinds/classmates back for the festivities.

Stopped by my old machinist freinds for a couple hours yesterday.  He's taking it very well on loosing the 2 1/4 fingers. He said he already has some feeling back in his thumb. Doc's are just concerned about any infection that might set in, other than him shaking his head and calling himself an old dumb ass, he's going to be just fine.

I'm still around just haven't been in garage since last week after my welder decided to die. Been shopping for a new to me (used) welder. Found a Millermatic auto set 180 with spool gun and cart for $700 is that to much money? Looks almost new used very little, spool gun is still wrapped in factory seal.

Our 9 year young grandson has been staying with us (our pleasure)...he keeps us busy.

I bought a 2003 S10 4cyl auto SWB pickup at an auction a few week back for $261....my grandson claimed it before I could do anything with it. He jumped right in and has been driving the heck out of it, we have 60 acres of trails out back.

He wanted to learn how to drive stick shift yesterday...so today he's driving "my" S10 4cyl 5speed all around the farm...really learns fast.

I'm still here, although I get a little sidetracked on the weekends taking care of a property we own at the Jersey shore. I was also given a project to build for my son's eighth grade graduation. Car-wise, I have just been sanding away on my coupe. My plan is still to paint it in about two weeks. My bodywork isn't too shabby and I can't wait to get some color on it.
Ghost, that UPOL is some good stuff, I think.
Glad your buddy is doing better, Sammons.

That 33 is looking real good, and the wood working is top notch.

Chopper I like that primer also, I think it's mixed with Viagra. I spent the day landscaping a few spots in the back yard, but when that was finished. I covered the roadster with 3 pots of primer. It's looking real smooth and a whole bunch better than when I started this project. A good day all around with the sunshine all day.

Ghost28 all of the wood work in the 33 pontiac sedan delivery was done backwards lol lol  The pieces were all assembled and bolted in backwards  usually the wood is bolted from the outside and then the metal is put on over the wood. Glen did not want to take the metal parts apart.

Well it worked no matter how it was done. It's a beautiful job, that car is gonna be a looker. Too bad you got to cover up the wood.
