Jef posted this link in his Forum Jef's GM Tech Center in the thread Carb Sizing. http://www.holley.com/applications/CarburetorSelector/CarbSelection.asp. It was helpful to me as I had a 660 cfm on my stock 283 which was too big. I'm going to get a Holley 390 cfm to replace it.

The 4.3 in my 27 has a quadrajet on it and it works great. Not sure what size it is.

I have a Edelbrock 600 on my 231 v6 and I jetted it down in all 3 stages if I remember correctly.
Exept one because I didn't have the jet. I gained more power and it runs great also passed I/M easily without cats .
It was my first time jetting a carb and went through the manual 150x to get it make sure it was right.
I got it from Summit and they said Id need 430cfm for my motor but your kinda limited on options at that cfm so I bought the 600.

well I feel like a idiot. got my carb running great. Pulled the breather off and the manual choke was closed, opened it up and it ran great. :o

Ah we all make mistakes, that's how we learn. Glad you got it running.
