Good luck...interested in your results.  I finished the "euflexxa" three shot series a couple weeks ago...hasn't made a difference so far.
Next step is knee replacement(s) which I'm trying to avoid.  Recently completed bladder and prostrate surgery so I'm good to go with any additional hospital visits for a while ;D

I've been taking steroids shots in both knees for about 10 Years trying not to have the total knee surgery....but when the injections work for 2-3 days or maybe longer rather than the 3-4 month timespan...I thought it was time to do the worse one.. which is the right one that I had scoped 16 years ago....surgery went good was Walking on it about 6 hrs after surgery.......the Dr said i could go home I told him no....he knew about this  at consultation... But it was still my call, stayed the night a got extra antibiotic drip ......while visiting with me after surgery. He said next 3- 4 days would be bad ...he was right everything tightens up... Have PT starting on Tuesday

Ah  heck Ed, finally had to bite the bullit and do it.  Hope you have a speedy recovery.

When my friends mom got both of her knees replaced (at once), one of her doctors told her to try sitting on a pick up tail gate and swing them,  she said that really helped with out stressing her out. One of my neighbor's across the street had both, i told him about it. He liked it. My mom did also, but one at a time.

You might ask your Dr or Pt person about that.

Ed how is your knee coming along?  Hope all is going well.

After almost 46 years, i'm having trouble with my broke up ankle. Been giving me fits since late last summer, and somehow got a nasty infection above my screws. They got me on somekind of powerfull antibiotics, (from the 11th thru the 24th). Haven't heard back yet on the culture sample or the xray results to see if i have a "surgical hardware infection". That would suck,  it feels better and a lot of swelling and drainage down.
So.... i'm kicking back also🙂

Good to here Ed, stay up on the PT, (i'm sure you will). They say that is the key to good fexability and recovery.
My mom said first week was bad, and was having second thoughts of doing the other knee. A month and a half later it was so much better, she scheduled the second knee.

Thanks and tell Bonnie hey back!  Finally got lab results, Staph infection. Antibiotics should take that out. Doc says xray shows my screws have moved out of place and need removed asap🙄 I'd like to know how they all of a sudden moved after 45yrs of no problems at all.  I dug up my xray from '85, gonna take that to my next appointment to see if what she is seeing... i seen the top screw had a gap back then.  Anyway, its looking/feeling much better.

Ed I had hoped you were getting along a bit better by now. Give it another 2-3 weeks and things should be looking up. Hang in there.

Well.... i'll be kicking back for a couple weeks. My ankle was on the 3rd go round of infection. As i had thought my screws hadn't came out more, but by chance when my ankle swelled up last summer for 4-5 days the protective cushion that developed above them had moved out of place. This caused rubbing irritation on inside skin causing infamation then bleeding to outside. Infection came from that. The hardware then got infected developing a biofilm over them that antibiotics couldn't penetrat creating reocuring infections.  Only cure was to have hardware removal.

Got to hospital and getting prepped yesterday morn when one of the nurses pulled bandaid and i was leaking more infection. She stopped and got doc saying probably no surgery till cleared. Doc came said nope, they gotta come out now, continue! Yeah!
Pre surgery doc says easy about 40mins,  but worried 46yrs may take longer pending screw bonded, break off bone growth etc may take 3hrs. They put me under at 10:45, i woke up and by time i got back to recovery room it was 11:45👍 doc stopped in and told my buddy Cheech all went well, all hardware out.😁

Got a walking boot, and pending any post problems, stitches out the 16th.  So far pain is less than when infected, no swelling i can tell, no "commom" discharge spotting or blood spotting on my bandages. Lots of time on the couch with foot elevated now.

Lots of freinds giving me a hand and tending my dog.

Thanks Tom. Cheech's wife just got my stupid TED sock back on and pulled my boot off to ice ankle and check it. All good yet, no visable swelling or discharge of any kind on bandage wrap yet. 👍

We were laughing again this morn. While i was being wheeled down to surgery, they kept saying well get you back to your family soon. When i woke up, same thing. We'll be back to your room in just a minute so you'll be back with your family. Thats odd, just Cheech. I don't have family here.  As we drove out of the hospital, Cheech says i think they think we are a couple. I said a couple what? He said a couple gay old dudes😁  I said well maybe thats why the kept reffuring to you as family. He said when Dr popped in to tell him i did fine and would be back in a few, Cheech was on phone, doc said oh didn't mean to interupt you call. He said thats ok, i was just telling my wife Steve was out of surgery fine. He said docs looked startled and then said ahh and smiled. Cheech said he was a whole lot more friendly then.😁

When they were prepping me they were asking me questions and Cheech about past things etc. Kathy, (Cheechs wife) said well you two been best friends since 1972 and know everything about each other. Probably thought just an old couple😁   we all got a laugh.

Hot damn, just got back from Dr. Got unwrapped cleaned stiches out. Still have a slight discharge where my bottom screw pushing out kinda thru skin was thin and infected. Got to go back in 2 weeks to make sure it heals all the way and infection still gone. I get to transion back to reg shoes now, with exception to rough ground or chance of bumping insicion.
He even got one extra (long) screw out. Said it was right there and didn't have any bone growth over it, so out it came. Looks a lot lighter with only one screw left😁

Boy you can sure see where my 2 bones above the breaks have fused together, wierd. He said probably another month and the holes should fill in.

Thanks Sixball. You ain't a kidding about longer to heal. Everything seems to be healing good except slow over the rotten spot of skin over where lower screw was. This morn just a tiny discharge the size of a sharpie marker dot, and now looking more like a propper scab👍  I'll be so glad to be done with this morning doctoring behind me.

Thanks Ed. Been a trying time. At least i didn't have to go thru the pain you did.
How is your knee doing now? Better i hope!    Are you going to have the other one done? Tell Bonnie hey🙂
