Title: Prepping your bits for brass and zinc
Post by: Coley on February 28, 2013, 11:57:16 PM
Nothing is more ornery than trying to hold a brass or zinc part while you drill a hole in it.

To prevent the bit from grabbing, take the bit and hold it to a grind stone so that the cutting edge is verticle to the stone and just face off the point on the side of the stone.

I know "never grind on the side of a stone", but in this case it is a slight cut and it makes the bits not grab.
