Welcome to the site Dan.
With your 2 inch wider fenders you got more options. The ford 8 or 9 inch rears in some models are about 58 inches and work well in gear change or selection for standard fenders, but you might be able to run a rear axle about 60 inchs wide, which some of the camaro and other gm's might be what your looking for if you want to stay GM.
As for patch panels I try to make all mine, but I am sure the filling station site, or someone on here should know.

Welcome also Dan.  I just got my July 2015 Filling Station catalog out, they list lower cowl patch panels for upto 1932 then skip ahead to '35 master only and up. I have never seen any for '33 or the '34-35 standard. As Ghost said we have to make most of our own. With a little skill set they are not that hard to bend up pending the amount of rust out (if just the seen part of lower cowl and not the more complex forward area that the hood sides would cover)

I still have my old cowl (I believe) it had other issues along with the 90°bend inboard bottom .  If you post a pic of the rust out on both sides we maybe able to advise more. I could darn sure send you a pattern off mine if needed.

Ideal width for 34-35 standards is 57". Allows you to run a 15 x 6 with 3 1/2--4" backspacing keeping the tire inside the fender.

There are no patch panels made for 33-34-35 standards.

There is some parts made by different companies. The Filling Station, I and I reproductions, Lynn Steele for all your rubber needs.

Dan,
Welcome to the site!  I have a 33 Chevy Cabriolet that I used a 10 bolt rear end out of a 94 Chevy S10 2WD.  It has 3:43 gears and fit well.  I bought my new leaf springs from Posie's in Pennsylvania.  If I remember right the 4WD rear ends were a couple inches wider so with the fenders you have that may be an option.

Welcome aboard, busdriverdan!! I can't help you with the patch panels, but if it helps you any, I think a tri-5 Chevy rear is about 59 5/8", that's what I have in my '32.

Here is my 35 Chevrolet standard series EC coupe with stock rear fenders. The jaguar rear end is 57 inches wide.

Those are 15 x 8 Dayton wire wheels in back with 4 1/4 backspace ,
235 15 70 series general altimax tires.  I had better fender to tire clearance when I had 15 x 6 gm ralley wheels with 4" backspace

I run a small block chevy 350 ZZ4 350--355 HP with short aluminum water pump and motor fits perfectly with a "vintage air"  steel fan attached.  Behind that I run a GM 700R4 overdrive auto.

Re vent window removal.........NO !  may look slicker like a 32 for, but those vent windows are there like wind wings on a roadster to deflect the air wanting to come into the car.  Also nice when raining out when side windows cannot go down.

I run a 34 chevy master roll down rear window assembly from a rumble seat car and that allows the air when windows are down to stop the wind vortex inside the car and allow it to escape out the rolled down rear window.  I took my air con system out as its not needed with this setup.  The 34-35 standard series did not have rumble seats in the closed cars.

There is a company who makes a 35 standard chassis specific trans mount for an automatic.   I just brought it up from the basement to see if I can make it work with a T56 tremec magnum 6 speed stick as I get back to working on the frame.

Why would you ever want to replace a 700R4 with a T56 tremec magnum 6 speed .When you could have a 4L80E OR A 4L85E AUTO  or a newer 6 or 8 speed automatic paddle shift  prey tell

why ?????????????

Because I want to press a clutch pedal to the wilwood master cylinder.

I want to grab that short shifter and pull it hard into the next gear and the next , and the next, until I reach the 6th gear. In between each 5th and 6th gear shift I want to see the RPM drop until I am doing 100 kph at 1800 rpm.

I have wanted this since 1996 when I  started overhauling the 35 coupe and stupidly listened to my son , looking at me mystified about why I wanted a stick shift in the car and stupidly I went to the 700R4 .

I run a carburetor for the same reason instead of fuel injection, because I want to.

I want to run Fast Freddie weber carb IDF 48 system, I own it, just need to rebuild it and change carb colour.

These are limited use TOYS. Not day in , day out drivers

Wayne, you cannot equate finger pulling a paddle shifter on your steering column to pulling a gear shift attached to the transmission.

I have a 2014 Chrysler 300 SRT 470 hp & torque and it has that paddle shifter 5 speed feature. Played with it a few times........BORING.  Ya want excitement, turn off the traction stability control and nail it .

Madmike 3434  I know exactly what your saying.I get myself in more trouble driving the vette than i do driving the lowrider. But the lowrider is just about as much fun to drive, has more hp better traction and does not look as conspicuous. Drive it like you stole it  does not work for me anymore, vette59jdwl
