I have a 1930 Chevty headlight bucket, does the reflector sit over this lip around the bucket? The bottom picture is a 1932 Ford reflector and the lip around the top would fit the Chevy bucket if it were folded over. Make any sense?

How does the trim ring fit on the 1930 bucket does it set on that ring where your finger is pointing?

I don't have the 1930 Chevy reflector so that is my question, how does it fit on the Chevy bucket?

On my 32 the reflector sits on the shelf/rib on the inside of the bucket with the tab on the reflector sitting on the slot on the bucket to properly index the reflector.There is a gasket the sits on top the the reflector that is sandwiched between the reflector and the rim when it's installed. Here's a quick drawing that might help...

Thanks Moose, that picture explains it very well. I have not been able to locate the Chevy reflectors in the 9 1/4 size so I got two 1932 Ford reflectors which are close but not there. I am trying to figure some way to modify them to fit or continue to look for the correct ones.

The Filling station lists a halogen upgrade kit that includes the reflector for a 30 Chevy...Not cheap but should work if you don't find anything else

Thanks Moose, I was looking at them... I just need to call and make sure they are the right size. I have seen other sizes advertised as 1930.

Does the lens just set on top of all this and held in place by the ring, or is there anything else like maybe another gasket?

On mine there is only the one gasket. It is actually a long strip of cork that I'm guessing is about a quarter inch square that is butt up on the ends and fits tightly to both the inside of the lip on the head light bucket and thick enough to extend above the lip of the bucket to seal the lens that just sits on top of it. The headlight ring when tightened forces the lens in contact with the gasket and the gasket in contact with the lip on the bucket to create a water tight seal. I hope this makes some sense to you..
