Bowtie Reproductions
« on: June 03, 2014, 03:39:39 PM »
Has anyone done business with them.  They have a set of good looking rear fenders for a 1930 that I have been looking for all over.  It is hard to find anything beyond a 31.

I've done business with them a few times and have always been more than satisfied. I bought a rear steel fender for my 32 and I couldn't tell the differince from factory. They aren't cheap though.

I have done business with them 5-6 times with never a problem and noticed the steel repo rear fenders 29--30--31--32 and thought boy that's going to make a lot of bowtie lovers happy along with the gravel shield in the front.

Think it was 31-32 gas tank cover in steel also caught my eye.  When you consider what it costs to repair metal properly at $80--90 hour--- IF---- you can find somebody to do the work in a reasonable amount of time its going to cost.

5 hours x $80 = $400 and that can go real quick.   And try to find somebody that doesn't just want to slap bodyman in a can all over it and get out their cheese graters to shape it.

I forget how much the fenders and other parts were , but brand new is always better than heavily repaired.

Too bad EXPERI-METAL in Michigan who did the repo roadster steel body and fenders wasn't still around to continue to make these parts.

I am glad that they are around. No problems at all dealing with them.

There fenders look great and the only place I can find 1930 reproductions.  But, I have been trying to get a price list for two weeks now with no luck.

I bought cowl and quarter panel patches from them. Pretty good quality and close enough to give me something to work with.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

I got my passenger fender and it looks great.  I did a run through of the mounting and found the fender to be different from the original in the back at the duck tail.  The fenders on the car continued down below the bumpers before creating the duck tail as I call it.  The new fender's duck tail stops even with the bumper.

Which one is the original look?

I will get pictures this afternoon.
