I had no problem with the old format...noticed that you can't "search" the parts sections anymore? Well at least I can't figure it out....
-
I tried to figure it out when it first came up and couldnt. The old program worked fine for me,now it just sems like more work and not worth it.Ryan keeps trying to reinvent the internet with this stuff,i can do without HAMB.

There's a discussion about this at Canadian Rodder. While I have not visited the Pork site since the change, it seems to be somewhat divided among the users as to whether it is good or not. But as they figure it out, the comments improve. But as you say...why try to reinvent the wheel, or internet in this case. Frankly, I'm quite happy here.

I'm sure Ryan will somehow realize some financial gain form the new format. Seems like there's a lot of advertising and Facebook stuff going on in the new format. I would guess it's all to help promote his business Atomic Industry

IT SUCKS.....Can't search for a specific part......
-
I agree the new format is different, but you can still search for a specific part. I will do a quick outline how to do it:
1) Click on the Search Icon at the top
2) Type in the part you are trying to locate
3) Scroll down to the "Search in Forum" box.
4) Scroll down in the box until you find "Parts for Sale" or whatever category you are looking in.
5) Click "Search"
I do agree it is not as easy, but it is doable. Just thought I would try to help out.

It is harder to get to threads that I follow. I feels like a giant step backwards to me. It looks like the only forums left are the period correct hot rod and custom forums. that is too nit picky for me.

Yeah I used to like that I could browse real quickly to a thread I replied to. I'm sure it'll take some getting used to.

Hell. I had a hard time just signing out. I did like the old format, but I really don't like drastic changes.

I dont need to give it another week.Like was said above, nit pickey and I will add prejudical against ANYTHING except of course bags and mustang fronts wich are by no stretch of the imagination period correct or traditional.I like it here just fine.

The HAMB is a special place. While I respect their dedication to what they like to refer to as traditional hot rods, what I can't stand is the overall attitude of the site. Kinda sucks too, because there is a ton if useful info but it's just to much of a pain in the ass to deal with the drama.
-
I'm starting to find what works for me again and I must admit it's pretty easy. I look at the HAMB quite differently now that when I found it several years ago. I rarely go to the main forums. I search for things I like or info I need and subscribe to the threads that relate to my interest. There are a lot of knowledgable people with good information there and I'll wade through some of the BS to get it. To me tradition is a method not a product.
