Title: Suspension recommendations 37 Chevy sedan
Post by: EDNY on December 24, 2012, 07:09:02 PM
Will be helping my son set up his 37 Chevy 4 door sedan. It has a Corvair front suspension that will be removed and a Mustang II IFS with power steering installed this Spring.

Looking for any experienced feedback concerning ride height, tire size, track width, dropped spindles vs stock relating to the front suspension for these full fendered body styles.

The car needs to be lowered...but have early concerns about tire steering clearance etc.  The back should be straight foreward..leafs with lowering blocks.  Any feedback for a readily available rear axle with disc brakes is also appreciated.

Have you checked with  chassis engineering for specs on there bolt in crossmember and suspension parts, I know they have one for your application. I have known a few guys that have used them and they are really happy with the results. As for the tire size you might want to check on 195 65 R 15s or 205 65 R15s if you are using radials mounted on a 15 by 6 inch rim with a 3 to 3 1/2 inch back space. These have worked for me in getting the right stance

My buddy has a bolt up unit is his 39 coupe....they don't seem to give the bolt up units away either.  Hoping to talk with someone with a full size sedan to determine the best chassis ground clearance to work with.

Thanks
