Roller at the end of window regulator arm

(1/2) > >>

FATnLOW:
Anyone replace the rollers at the end of the  regulator arm? If so what did you use and where did you get the parts??. The Filling Station  parts will not work too small of a roller and rivet is also small....

sammons:
Ed, i use to have quite a few of those at the shop. God knows where now. Get the size and go to the auto parts store. The Dorman/Help card section use to carry various sizes. Some had a built on bolt w/nut and others had the rivet in them. I ran into several of them type, rivet was too short to do much good so watch for that. GM tended to keep a lot of those rollers the same size for many decades.

Like hinge pins upper/lower bushings, same size from our old ones thru the 90s. Just cut pin to length. Lol, who'd have thunk😁

FATnLOW:
One thing I noticed on the rollers I received they are .75 diameter and that size I don't see it will roll on the bottom of the track.has to larger in my thinking for it to contact the bottom...ill look at Dorman stuff at  O'Reilly and auto zone

FATnLOW:
Under control.... Used  top guide roller for bifold doors  N 6704 (Prime-Line product) , had to enlarge hole in the center of the roller and .75 " is correct for the roller as track is .75"+  for roller acceptance. One done works like new...lol...Used original rivet..I was very careful in removing it from the regulator arm

sammons:
Cool, glad you found something.

Decades ago a guy brought in his early square body Chevy 4x4 he had recently bought. Weed eater kicked up a rock and busted his door glass. Got into it, someone previous had made an oak roller, lol. I replaced it with a new one, but the guy said it was working good. You see all kinds of stuff, some work, some don't😁
