Title: Hello!
Post by: sixball on November 13, 2013, 11:28:55 PM
Hello, I got here yesterday from the HAMB. I've been looking around and reading but got carried away and posted so it's only fair you know who I am. I was a stone Ford guy. My first car was a "38 Ford Coupe. I had several '38, '39' and "40s in lots of forms. Then I bought a '48 Chevy Fleetline for $55, game over. That was 1963. I presently have a '53 Chevy pickup with a 270 GMC engine, a "68 C10 Flatbed, a "70 Blazer (my first new car), and a '26 Chevy roadster project. The only Ford I own is a tractor.

This looks like a nice calm place where we can talk about our Chevys without having to defend our choice. How many people even know that the roadster coming at you on the SCTA logo is a '25 Chevrolet? Anyway I have seen several topics of interest and I like the low key feel. I must warn some though that even if we are friends all we post is open to the world where evil thrives on the good intentioned. >:(

Welcome to the forum..I also like inline engines and single rifles. We started this forum to help the vintage Chevy/GM guys with their projects ie tech and parts...nothing against the other manufacturers at all.  Never knew there were that many vintage Chevy/GM vehicles out there and we are proving it.

BTW: That one link is opening with errors...included the Inliners link below...

Sixball,
Welcome to the forum.  I've seen some of your post on the HAMB.  Glad to see you joined the group!  You'll have to post some pics of your 26 roadster when you get a chance.  It's a good bunch of guys on here so enjoy.

I just wanted to chime in with another welcome aboard. The common thread here is Chevrolet's but like most people we all have diverse interest and this is a great place to share those as well. Enjoy!!!

Welcome from the snowy north! Most of the reasons I came here are the same as yours. HAMB is OK for a lot of stuff, but Ive always said a chevy motor belongs in a chevy,a ford in a ford!

Thanks for the welcome. I'll try not to wear it out.  I'll try and post some pictures in the right place. My '26 is a collection of pieces ready to begin assembly.

Hello!

Can't wait to see pictures of your project! I would like to do something like that.

I went to HS auto shop with your engine builder Tommy Lowe. Ask him about the "Dangerous" mobile and it's superpowers. If I remember correctly it was a 64 chevelle 4 door that he put a push bar on it. Unfortunately he didn't beef up the bumper mount. After miles of mayhem behind him and in his bed, his parents were awoken by the sheriff to return the front license plate.

HS auto shop! I knew he had some advanced traning. ::) He just got his kid a Hudson pickup that they are building a Chevy 6 for. I hope to meet them in Colorado for the Inliner Convention in June. Thanks again for the welcome. Nice people here.

Speaking of inline -6- engines...my son has a 67 Firebird in the barn...here's the "Quadrajet & dual exhaust manifold" sitting in it.

That's the sprint 6 Pontiac. A good friend of mine bought a complete one for his 31 Pontiac 5w coupe.

I'll invite him and see if he will post some pics.
