Title: new toy hauler

my 1988 gmc 2500k just isnt quite up to the tasks i demand of it.
so my sweety told me i needed a new truck (bless her lil heart)
my buddy has a bone disease and cant push in a clutch anymore.
so i am buying his 2001   dodge 3500 quad cab dually with the 5.9 L cummins turbo diesel
6 speed manual tranny
yikes!
this thing is a brute.
anyway i am jazzed about my new toy hauler/toy/tool

Nice setup!  Might have a lead on another Chevy regular cab dually needing an engine/tranny. Have an extra 350 TPI engine and NV4500 5sp ready to go in it.  Also have 3500HD dually project that's ready to go together, been thinning out my dually parts.

I like the 3500HD dually series so much (15000 GVW)..I started a forum just for them a couple years ago:

i wanted something powerful that i dont have to fool with just to use . (i already have a hotrod...)
i am not modding this thing at all.
not even sure if i will keep the aftermarket van aaken chip it has now.

after spending way too much time on the intergooglyweb.
i found that with the van aaken chip installed
305 hp
672@1600 rpm torque

after a tentative milage test (only 450 miles)
all city driving i got 18.2 mpg
