Title: Which security camera VCR are you using?

I'm in search of a more user friendly security camera VCR. Years ago I bought a 4 camera system from Q-See which I liked but when the VCR crashed I received ZERO help from Q-See..so I bought a generic recorder.  The problem is the new VCR is really complicated to set up, play back and download video. Every time the power is interrupted the settings are altered (even with a new board battery).

Looking for recommendations for a new VCR unit.  I assume my old cameras are not digital so will digital cameras work with my current system camera cables?

I'v been looking at different systems for quite a while and am totally confused. I really need to set something up but our off grid solar system has some limits. I don't have any "extra" power. A DC system would be great, wireless cameras better, someone who knows these things best. I don't want it connected to a security service or the internet.
