Great article, I was glad to see the mention of the Plymouth. There was a '32 Plymouth roadster sitting on our farm in Texas. It was perfect except that it had been sitting where my uncle parked it in the early '40s. The story was that my Uncle Blake had fixed it up with new paint, upholstery, rebuilt engine, etc. He drove it tow the movies and when he came back it had been vandalized by enemies of one or more of his older brothers. He hitchhiked the 6 miles home and went back to get it with his 3 brothers. They came home a few hours later with the Plymouth in tow behind Uncle Blake's new car, An almost new '41 Ford Coupe. Evidently the guys who trashed his Plymouth felt so bad about it that chipped in and bought the Ford for him.
I played in that old Plymouth until I came home from school one day to find that my dad had cut it up for scrap. He did that a lot.
