As you scroll thru these great WW II era photos note the small caption at the bottom left of each photo. 
 
Hope you can open this. Some of the best black & white photos of the era I think. How impressive and what a sense of a righteous cause we appeared to show. This was America at her best. A far cry from the country we are today.
 

A collection of photos from WWII !!   A bit long  -  but definitely worth the time plus the wonderful essays by the young children!

Check out the dress code of the observers at the parades?  Shirts, ties, high heels.  Wow!  Can you imagine sorting out all those clothes and boots to be worn by another soldier?  What, RECYCLE?  The government certainly could take a look back in time.  Everything is disposable except them.
 
These are outstanding photos from WWII and shortly after.
 
It was great to pause and give thanks - lest we forget.
