A FREE forum with -member photo gallery- for the vintage Chevy, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and any GM builders.

PLEASE Sign Up & Post in the Classified Section  - If you don’t want to talk No Problem  - But Please - List those Parts for Sale or Parts Needed!

As you all know locating any parts for these early GM vehicles is tough, the goal of this forum is to bring the restorers, lowriders, street & rat rodders together.

There are plenty of forums out there and it's a pain trying to locate Chevy/GM parts tucked in all of those Ford, Dodge, Plymouth etc ads. Some forums don't like mixing restored cars with custom cars, we'll focus on the early BOWTIE's....but mix it up some. To be clear we love all vintage vehicles regardless of make..it's just tough locating the Govt Motors stuff!

To assist in your projects advertising is encouraged & will be FREE for both PRIVATE and COMMERCIAL sellers.
Don't be a Bowtie Parts Hoarder!

Unlike many other forums you are encouraged to mention other websites and/or forums in your posts or signatures. We even have a list of other forums at the bottom of the page….this is a reference site.

Registration is open......SUGGESTIONS FOR FORMAT ARE WELCOME -and- PLEASE GET THE WORD OUT! ........... It's OK to just sign up ONLY to buy/sell parts!

We have decided to hold the Test and Tune regardless of the number of entries. Of course Mother Nature will have the final say.
This will provide an opportunity to get licensed, qualify to run on the long course, have your vehicle inspected, make some tuning runs and work out any bugs the vehicle may have. Just be aware this is not an event to qualify for or set any records.
We will also be offering runs for both the 130 and 150 mph clubs.
There will not be any gasoline or fuel available on the salt so you will need to bring your own supply.
We hope to see several of you there and hope for good weather and track conditions. ///

Can't wait.  😁
Talking with sid.  He wants to do some secret testing beforehand.  Found a location with enough ground to do low speed runs to test steering speed and other things.
I've cleared my whole summer for this.  Planning on camping out there to check conditions in the next few weeks.
I pray to the car gods to advise mother nature for a good racing season.

My mower turned good/bad/good. I got,(fell on the ground) to get my deck off for repairs, needed a different tool. I rolled around on the ground for 15 mins trying to get up. Called Tom, he came over and pulled the pins and drug it out for me. Went to put new blades on, wobble wobble on one spindle lower bearing. Pulled it out,  only took 2hrs🙄 Between my severe muscle fatige and can't no longer couple/uncouple my air tools with out draining the compressor to do so. I know i have an extra used one some where but can't find it.

Tom called couple days later, his old ladys friends dad died and they were selling farm. He helped clean stuff up, says what is your deck size. Told him 42, he says 9 old riders out there and one in shed 42" good deck. He brings it home and dropped it off. This baby is the same year as mine (1998) but has low hrs, is a DLT 3000 instead of my LT 1000, but almost everything the same. It has small single 18.5 hp, but same extended wheel base, large rear tire, rear big gas tank and 6-speed on the fly shift manual as mine.

Called Tom up today, as i got it in the garage to drop deck to swap with my mower. Got (fell) on the ground to try and unhook, 2 clips off and i was done. 15 mins to get back up, called Tom. He came over dropped, went to check everything and all topside looked good. Told him to flip over to check blades, he said look at all the shinny new parts. Flipped over blades bad. Had him swap, first one had bolt crossthreaded and drove home😡 got blade off, they never got the star shaft in the blade. It wore out the star, junk. Pulled the other spindle shaft out, they were both brand new, not even surface rusted. Replaced the other new shaft and bearings  in mine. Found a complete deck rebuild kit with everything, $75 and free shipping. Can't go wrong there. I had him order that for the new deck.

Any whoo, slap in the face to me. I'm really done doing anything labor wise. Not depressed, just pissed off at having life sucked out of me with this damn Rheumatoid Arthritis😡 Doc said very few
% of people get the really bad stuff. I'm the winner🤪

I am back working on the 1936 trail lamp stands and the housings and needed a small cutting tip to use in my die grinder.  Cleaning up die cast type ZA castings plugs up the cutting edge on rotary grinding tools.  I tried a 1/4" tap in my die grinder and it will cut fairly well and we all have old taps just laying around.
Open heart surgery, aneaurisms and stents, sorta slows one down.  I have been busy with making all the truck headlight stands for 1937 to 40 Chevys and GMCs. Turned 81 last year, but still try to work 6 1/2 days each week.
