The whole island was turned into a state park. Kinda like Brodie.

Right now im camping in Yuba.  Fishing was a bust and I got here at 4pm..  Maybe I'll go explore tomorrow.  Forgot to charge my camera batteries but I have a lil action cam to try and get some footage.
Temps are supposed to be 9° tonight.

I fell asleep and forgot to turn the electric heater back on.  It was 20° inside, anything with aluminum was frosted over but was warm in the sleeping bag.
Had both heaters going that morning to get rid of the humidity.
Explored in the truck a bit and packed up.
There was one guy ice fishing when I left.  Surprised the ice was thick enough.

Cool, really cool! Once when I was a kid we returned home to Texas from a Christmas trip to California. We had run out of butane. Pipes froze, water ran under the snow and we got stuck in the driveway. It was -20 in the house. The only things that did not freeze were in the refrigerator. Dad fired up the coal oil heater and we all climbed into one bed until the house warmed up to just above freezing. My brother & I when duck hunting.  :)

This year's vacation was a bit closer and shorter.  We stayed in Murtagh lake Idaho last weekend.  Did alot of fishing 🎣  and caught my first catfish then took the woman to see Shoeshone falls along with twin falls.  Also found another homestead to explore called Stricker.  Had a great time seeing all the green farmland.  A nice break from the redrock we usually see.

Super windy on the way home and burned up alot of gas.

Good for you. looks like a good time. I think my favorite landscape is the green farmland ant the base of the red rock cliffs. There is a lot of it between Blanding, Utah & Cortez, Colorado on the mostly dirt road that goes past Hovenweep. I need to get out more!  ::)

Beautiful scenery, and good job, thanks for sharing it.

Very nice Thanks! It is good to see that at least one of these remote ranch sites is being preserved. It took/takes a special kind of people to live way out there. There were once millions of them. We had a similar place it Texas when I was a kid. It has been totally hauled away now. Nothing remains.
